How it works...

The technology behind YouTrack may be complex and cutting edge, but how it works for you couldn’t be simpler. YouTrack provides 24 hour secure access to all your vehicles locations from any PC. YouTrack uses the very latest GPS and GSM technology. We design, write and develop all our own software (both embedded and web based) which is combined with our PCB (printed circuit board) designs which are manufactured here in the United Kingdom.

car icon A small YouTrack vehicle tracking unit (VTU) is covertly installed in your vehicle by one of our qualified engineers. The unit requires no driver interaction and cannot be visibly seen. Each YouTrack unit draws a small amount of power from your vehicle when your vehicle is running. When you turn off your vehicles ignition, the YouTrack unit will sense this and go into sleep mode to draw even less power and so not drawing excess power from your vehicle battery.
satellite icon The YouTrack VTU constantly monitors its position by using GPS (Global Positioning System) and records this information together with time, speed and direction of travel when the vehicle is in use (ignition on). In the event of your vehicle being towed away or lifted onto the back of another vehicle without the ignition being switched on then YouTrack will detect this by movement sensor and automatically transmit its position every 60 seconds.
dish icon This positional information is then transmitted from the YouTrack VTU over the GPRS network using Orbital’s preferred network operator in real time. The information is then stored and processed in Orbital Communications secure data centre.
computer icon At anytime you can log onto the YouTrack website and enter your own secure login and password to see the position of your vehicle (stolen or not!). You can also set up a various alerts for total peace of mind, such as geo-fencing, out of hours use, speeding and much more, all at the click of a button.
